Can't help myself...

...from taking more pictures of my lilacs.

You need to realize that this is the most lilacs
I have ever had in one year so I just keep picking
them. Three small bushes, but they gave many
blooms this year. Must have been all the rain...
rain...rain. Did I mention that we have had a
lot of rain? lol

I stuck them here and stuck them there. Took regular shots, wide angle shots,
close-up shots...any way I could, but I still
always came back to using this chair.
I love it.

Lilacs and old lace...does it get any better than this? Last year I planted a white lilac bush and it produced one teeny tiny flower this year. Hoping for more next year.

I went around the lake today that is a hop and a jump away from our house and found a few goodies at some garage sales. Hopefully I can get photos taken of them to share with you soon. I am telling you the traffic was just crazy over there. Needed a traffic cop to direct. Many times you could barely squeeze your car through and there were lines of us waiting to move just a little bit. :)

It is a gorgeous day here in Michigan finally...no rain {there's that word again *smile*} But tomorrow is another day and with it brings more rain...or so they say.

Blessings~

Playing with *soft focus* in Picnik

I've been playing around the past few days in
Picnik with the soft focus and I am curious
what you think.
{photo above regular photo}

{photo above soft focus}

again photo above regular photo... and photo below soft focus.

Love this lilac photo in regular...

even more in soft focus.

Now realize that I am still on dial-up internet
and it takes awhile for Picnik to load so once
I get it loaded I leave the page up for
several days so I can play around with it.

I love their loading platform...these words scroll while it
is loading:

laying blanket...sprinkling dew, warming breeze, coloring flowers,
picking blackberries...planting trees, growing grass,
fluffing clouds, cueing bird songs, painting sky, stealing picnik
basket, floating kites, buttering sandwiches, applying sunscreen,
blooming blossoms...

Wishing you all these things and more...
blessings~

A gift for Kathleen on her 100th White Wednesday

I wanted to do something special for Kathleen since
she is celebrating the milestone of 100 White
Wednesday posts this week so I whipped up a
lavender sachet for her.

I thought it turned out pretty cute...tufted buttons
and all.

But then somewhere in the back of my mind a little voice is whispering to me that I think she may be allergic to lavender. oh dear. I think I remember her commenting about it at one time, but it may have been someone else. I need to find out asap.

I know this is a White Wednesday post and I have lavender lilacs, but there is some white so I think I am okay. lol.

These gorgeous lilacs are from a start that I dug up at my son and daughter-in-laws home two or three years ago and it is already big enough for me to cut flowers off of. Amazing!

When I first put them in this container and filled it with water it promptly all ran out the bottom all over my windowsill. Oops..it is a planter not a vase. So I put them in the white pitcher.

Please visit Katheen over at Faded Charm this week where she is having some amazing giveaways to celebrate her 100th WW post. Kathleen, please let me know if you can handle the lavender sachet or not. Would be happy to send it to you!! Blessings~ {chair grapic found at the graphics fairy blog}

Cloche {of sorts}, ivy...and a question

I am still tweaking my back deck and have added
a few more goodies to it. I have had this basket for
several years and the big box store had a special
buy on ivy plants for $1.58 this week so I grabbed
several. I need to plant them yet, but for now I
thought they looked cute in the basket.

I don't know what this piece is called, but for lack
of a better word I will call it a cloche. How easy
would these be to make! I know we could whip
some of them up fast. It is just two pieces of glass
framed out and the ends are open. Love it!

Find some old white chippy wood and make
a few...I know I want to!

Still loving my vintage stand on rollers that
I purchased at a garage sale last year.

I made use of my antique shutter by adding it to this small table.

More ivy on my patio table.

I brought the old plant stand out and added burlap
to the table.

It is getting done slowly , but surely. Yesterday and
today we have been deluged with rain so I have
been inside playing. Hopefully the sun will return
soon!

Now I have a question...for those of you who
print on fabric for pillows etc. HOW do you do it
and have it turn out nice? I am lucky to get
50% of mine that look decent. Mine come out of the
printer with black smudges here and there and they
are not pretty. I am using a HP psc 1210 xi all in one printer, scanner , copier.

I have tried the freezer paper method and also
just tried spray adhesive on cardstock and then
adhering it to the fabric and sending it through
with the same sad results. :(
Help please?? :)
Thank you!!

Home and garden footwear faves of the moment and blogger...grrr

I am rather irritated with blogger at the moment...but
on to my footwear. I LOVE these slippers. They are
dearfoams from Kohls and they are my favs at the
moment.

My pretty garden boots {sloggers from Target} If you have never purchased sloggers you are in
for a treat.

{one of my pretty lilac bushes}

My slogger clogs. I have worn these for a few years and no they aren't much to look at by now, but I still love them and they work just fine.

For some reason this posted before I had put any

of my text on so I hope this turns out okay.

Blogger needs help !! :) I want to leave you today with this thought:

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Blessings~
