Pay it forward challenge ~

Do you remember me blogging at Easter time last year and telling
how we were in the drive through at a fast food place and
the lady ahead of our vehicle payed for our food
so when we got to the window the person told us we
didn't owe anything?

I finally got the chance to pass that blessing along today
and it was so exciting!

Today I made a trip to my booth and then
I stopped at Wendy's on the way home for a quick bite.
While sitting in the drive through a *still small voice* was
tugging at my conscience saying,

"pay for the person behind you"

I came up with all kinds of excuses in my mind
why maybe I shouldn't.
One being that I had only brought $10 in cash along with me
and it probably wouldn't be enough , but that little
voice kept telling me...

"pay for the person behind you"

So I thought okay I am going to do this by faith that I will have enough money with me. I paid for mine and then
I asked the lady how much the next persons bill was and
she said "$5.49". I had $1.51 left over after paying for hers!

I am so glad that I listened to that *still small voice*.
I will never know why I was to do this at this particular
time and place, but it was such a blessing and I
pray that she received a blessing too!!

I challenge you especially in these hard times to
*pay it forward*
You will get a blessing and you never know
whose life you may change!!

{I did not post this to bring any glory to me whatsoever
but to remind us all that there are hurting people
out there and we need to do what we can to help...
even if it is in small way. }

Hugs~

Yes, that's beautiful! You never know - that person in the car behind may have scrapped her last coins together to get this meal - or maybe she or he may have said a little prayer asking for some kind of sign or help today to indicate God cared about them. It is always a blessing for you, that person who received, and the employee who noted it and was involved in it. God is so good...

Good for you Sandi!! What a great way to make a strangers day a little extra special. I actually had someone do that for me last year as I was going through the drive-thru at our local coffee shop. Person in front of me paid for my coffee drink and it cheered me up for the whole day. I have yet to pay it forward, but I know that someday I will when the time is right.

You're such a kind person! I truly believe God will bless you many times over for the generosities you are always bestowing on others!!

Thank you so very much for the beautiful prayer cards and Child's Night Prayer that you sent me...they are such a special gift and one that I will always hold dear...and think of my sweet friend Sandi when I look at them :)

Love this, Sandi. What a light feeling to leave that drive-thru and know you had lifted someone's spirits!

Even though a simple act of kindess in theory...it no doubt makes such an impact! Not only on the person receiving the blessing but the person at the drive through you asked as well. I do love helping others out...and on occasion think of that for people in the grocery line or other places...but I tend to get too nervous and have those nagging questions like you did. Your bravery and willingness to just listen and go ahead will definitely be in my mind the next time for sure! Thank you for sharing this amazing story Sandi!

Yay! I bet that was so fun! I know how much it blessed the lady in front of me at K-Mart when someone did it for her! ♥

Always a blessing when I visit with you, Sandi! I especially liked Cynthia's comment that oft times someone just needs to feel in a tangible way that God cares for them. Happy to hear you followed that small voice :)

Sandi amor, I love what you did, I think that when we can, we should all do this, as you know, things have been really tight here too, but a few weeks ago I bought a $2 scratcher ticket and I won $15, I know it isn't alot, but I thought it was a nice lil meal for my girls from McDonalds ( takeout of any kind is a rare treat lately) and you know these lil children with their mama came up to me asking for change, they were trying to get a room for the night at a motel after losing their jobs and home...I felt so bad because I had no change to spare and as I was walking away, I remembered the ticket in my car and asked them to wait for me as I went to get it...when I gave it to them, the moms face said it all, they would have a warm safe place to sleep at least that night...all I remember is that it was very cold that night and as we drove away...I couldn't stop the tears because I knew that no matter how bad things were with us, I still had my home and even if that were gone, I have family that I know wouldn't let us worried about a warm place to lay our heads for the night...I only wish that the ticket would have been for more, to give them more time in a warm place...you did a beautiful thing and someone out there is smiling all day because of you! Besos, Rose

ps..I loved what Cynthia K said, she has such a beautiful heart herself!

I often think of doing this in the grocery store, but how do you pay for someone behind you when their bill hasn't even been rung up yet? It is easy here to spot who may need a little help and who doesn't. I know when the time is right, I'll get the opportunity to do the right thing. Blessings, Tammy
