Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile!

Autumn is sure putting on a gorgeous display here in Michigan again this year.

I L.O.V.E. it!

I wake up to this gorgeous scene day after day. This is across the road from our house.

I guess there are perks to living in Michigan on a back, dirt road after all. I mean
you just don't see this beauty in the city.

"Come, little leaves"
said the wind one day,
"Come to the meadows
with me and play.
Put on your dresses of red and gold;
For summer is past,
and the days grow cold."
~ George Cooper

I shot these photos yesterday in our front yard when the sun was shining through the trees after a rain.

Can you say AMAZING??

Delicious Autumn!
My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird
I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns!

Grey Dey Thursdey ~

I am popping in quick today to leave a pic or two for
Grey Dey Thursdey.

Isn't this holder the sweetest?
I found it a few months ago at Hobby Lobby.

There is a flurry of activity at this house today. I am trying to get ready for a garage sale
on Saturday and I have so much to do. Whoever thinks that garage sales are a piece of
cake hasn't had one. ha! SO MUCH WORK and I am exhausted already.

Happy weekend ahead!!

Creating altered bottles once again

I have been trying to stay out of trouble, so therefore I have been creating a few altered bottles again
and these are the result.

Remember the post about all the fabulous old lace that I found at a sale?  Now I am thinking that I may have
posted that on facebook and not on my blog? At any rate, I found some gorgeous lace!

I am very frustrated lately at the lighting in this house. It is not good at all. So bad that I have to turn
on lights in the daytime. ugh. So to get any kind of decent photos at all , I sat some books up on a stand
in my living room and taped a white poster-board on the window behind it. Still not real great, but much
better than what I had initially taken. lol.

I love to embellish old bottles and have had fun making these. This one is in honor of
PARIS!

This photo does not show the true beauty of this old lace, but I did what I could. I love simple
bottles so I try not to adorn them too much. I also love to add the lace to the bottle in the form
that I found it...thus this one is a diagonal swoop??   {this bottle is now sold}

Beautiful bottle top

There are so many of us kindred spirits in blog-land aren't there? I know I don't begin to create as many
things as a lot of others, but I do love the kinship that we all share.

Another beautiful bottle top

Delicate old lace with soft netting on this bottle

...along with scrunchy ribbon.

The original cork stopper in this one. I tried to take it out to wash it and part of it broke off so I left it unwashed and
glued that part of the cork back on. A girl's gotta do what a girls gotta do right?

This will probably land in my Etsy shop soon. Thanks for taking the time to view my handiwork. I do appreciate each
and every one of you so much!!

Happy Thursday!

Kitchen decor redo

I have wanted to change up the decor in my kitchen for awhile now and finally accomplished
that today.  I didn't purchase one thing, but rather went shopping throughout my home and
I thought it turned out great. Something different and fun.   I made hubby a coffee station
which I also turned into a tea station for me! :)

{I was inspired to hang the clocks on the window from Tracey's  blog over at
French Larkspur...and also the 3 tiered metal stand. I am in no way an expert
like she is, but I like to play anyway. lol}

If you remember I used this chalkboard at my Fairy Party this summer.
The coffee pods are in the hanging basket which I JUST realized says
FLEURS!! How funny is that!! Maybe I should turn the basket
around. HA!

Crowns are always in style. Funny story here...I decided I wanted my crown gray so
I spray painted it, totally forgetting that it had rhinestones on it {fake}. I thought
I would clean them off , but never did. Oh well...:)

These cutie pie chocolate eggs were found in the cupboard from Easter. They had not
even been opened yet. I can't believe that! Ferrero hazlenut...yumm!!

Still in love with my french style totes and use them a lot!

Would you like to come for coffee...or tea? :)

Some of my pretty vintage spoons ready to use.

My painted table and mismatched chairs. I still want either a rectangle table or a chippy
white island...someday.

Hmm...I am NOT good at noticing things in photos until I actually post them.
There isn't anything in my cloche on the table! A few days ago it was full of
blueberry scones! Someone in this house must have liked them, but we won't
say who! Maybe two someones...???

Clock face and linens...what can be better?

Pretty vintage plates with tiny aqua roses on them perfect for a treat with coffee or tea.

I love this candle-holder above, but most of the time it sets on the floor as it is
very large. {That little tiny piece of bittersweet is NOT supposed to be up there
on that shelf. ha! Another oops! Looks kind of silly all by itself }

What you can't see is that I have made a mess of my border up at the ceiling. I don't even
want border, but until we remodel this kitchen {hopefully in a year or two} it is what it
is so I got the brilliant idea to paint it.  I did three layers of paint in different colors and
then appliqued a fleur-de-lis on with drywall mud. LOVE the concept and it turned out
okay, but the color is NOT right at all. Haven't figured out what to do yet. At this point
I have tried three different things and UGH!

Hope you enjoyed my attempt at redoing my kitchen decor.
Happy Thursday!!

The beauty of aged silver

I don't know about you ,but I am in love with aged silver and have been for quite
some time. Shh...don't tell hubby because he might get a tad jealous. :)

I took my bff out for her birthday lunch yesterday and while in a local town
I picked up these gorgeous spoons at a new little store that we found called
The Bees Knees.
50 cents each or 3 for $1.00!! I was instantly smitten and started digging through
the pile. I almost yelled when I found three spoons with crowns on them.
Can you say L.O.V.E. ???

I often wonder what stories they could tell us? Wouldn't it be amazing to be able
to look into the past and see how and where these were used?

So much beauty...yes I picked out the neatest ones. :)

Do you love old silver as much as I do?

I think I just may have to go back soon and dig around some more!

Have a beautiful weekend ahead and go out and celebrate life!!

Crowning glory

I have been working on a few more *peat pot* crowns this week and I am loving how each one turns
out and is so unique.

Each one has different embellishments such as vintage or new flowers, swarovski crystals, vintage lace,
vintage rhinestones, etc.

I try to make the sides look as pretty as the front.

I am still a tad bit partial to white...:)

Which one do you like the best?

If you like aqua then this one is for you!

Hope you enjoyed seeing what I am working on this week.
I did get these listed in my Etsy shop and you can click here to take a peek
if you are so inclined.

Linking up to White Wednesday hopefully! The last couple weeks I have had to
ask my daughter to do it for me.  Slowwww internet...:(
