We are starting this sale off with a vintage rusty/crusty clock that is just perfect for display. I have several of
these used in my home for just that purpose.

Next, we have a vintage baby ben alarm clock for your viewing pleasure. :)

This is a small canvas also from Peacock Park. It still has the shrink wrap on most of it . {some missing
from the back} It is brand new also.

I used to collect these vintage candy boxes and I just love the graphics on them.

I tried to be good...

I really did! I had been dreaming of a bar stool or two for the new island in my kitchen (it is also still a dream), but I put that out of my head and we hopped in the car and went to a garage sale just a few miles away on Saturday before all the birthday festivities started.

Am I ever glad we did! Tons of antique goodies were there and it was the third day of the sale! People just aren't buying around here like they used to.

This did come with the old cardboard pieces attached

that had wonderful graphics, but I had to take it off

and get rid of it because it was very brittle.

{I know this seam binding ribbon isn't white, but just

had to include it too. Hey at least the basket is white! lol}

last but not least a book for $1.00.

I think I was very good considering all that was there. There was a large pole building and a garage full of antique items. From Christmas ornaments to old valentines to... you name it they had it! The day we went everything was half off and I spent $7.50 total. I was hoping to go back later in the day, but it just didn't happen with family in for the day. I am still very happy with what I purchased.

Fabulous Finds ~

I thought I would share some of my garage sale and thrift store finds with you today. Love this cute cherub. I splurged and paid 4.95 for him ~ I purchased this gorgeous vintage lace runner with wide lace all around it at a garage sale. 10 cents and it is beautiful! This is a wood piece that I picked up earlier this spring. It was part of a huge old frame. I just finished painting and distressing it this past week. Paid $1.00 for this gem~

Doilies and vintage lace (and the lace edged runner in the 2nd photo)...I asked the lady how much (nothing was marked...I hate that) she said, "oh...10 cents each or a whole pile for that"...I grabbed them and gave her the 35 cents I had in my pocket. (no I didn't knock anyone down in the process...LOL) I really adore that lace edged runner ~

Do you remember this vintage frame from several posts back? It was gold? I painted it cream and distressed it too and I love how it turned out. It measures a whopping 19 inches x 24.5 inches! I also paid 5o cents for the vintage lace tablecloth underneath the frame ~

Love this little container with the rose on the side. I splurged and paid $3 for it...the ball fringe was $2 at the thrift store. I am loving my thrifty finds.

I am wondering how garage sales are doing in your area. Around here it used to be that you better get there when they open on the first day if you want anything good at all. I am finding this year (at least most I have went to) that there are wonderful and cheap finds on the 2nd and 3rd days. Didn't use to be that way, but it makes me a happy camper...or maybe I just have a *unique* taste in old goodies?? Also, I know some people can't see past the piece that looks like junk that truly can be remade into something wonderful.

Garage Sale Time ~

It is that time of year again for the annual *GARAGE SALE*. Actually I hadn't had one for years until last year and now again this year, but I aim to make it a yearly tradition . We live just north of a lake and their parade of sales is around the lake tomorrow so we don't have to advertise. People come in droves! I really needed to clean out much more stuff, but hopefully next year I can. It is just so much work getting ready for these sales! Seems more so every year. Maybe it is just my age creeping up on me. Ugh ~

Photo below is some of my closeout signs. I have had so many of these made up and stored up that they just had to go! Sold several today and hopefully the rest tomorrow~

I love this DREAM sign and the chandelier and lampshade with blue roses, but I can't keep everything. They are the simply shabby chic lampshades in the British Rose Pattern~ I told you I have accumulated a *LOT* of stuff! I don't know where this stuff comes from...lol! I told someone who stopped today that we should just have a big meet and swap stuff. We sell things at our sales and then go buy more stuff! Funny how that works ~

Ribbon and odds and ends...hopefully by tomorrow by about 11 am most of this will be all gone. I can only have the sale for half a day because my neice graduates at 1 pm. I am going to have to really move to get this sale going , closed up and on to the graduation and the open house afterwards ~

P.S. I only showed you the *PRETTY* parts of the sale. I left out hubbies tools and all those gadgets that we have no clue what they are or how they work! LOL

Gorgeous Antique Frame ~

First of all these are not *PRETTY* pictures , but I had to share my latest goodies with you that I found at a couple garage sales on Saturday.

A huge old frame , doilies and candleholders ~

I *LOVE* this frame! It was only $1.00 at a Faith Mennonite School rummage sale ~ My plan is to paint it cream or white so I will definitely have a *PRETTY* photo to share with you later. The doilies and candleholders were only 25-50 cents each. I didn't even spend $5 total and I also purchased some paper doilies that are not in the picture.

I love to go to garage sales especially when I find some wonderful antique items for a little of nothing. Speaking of...I am planning on having a garage sale here soon so wish me luck. I have been digging out things from every knook and cranny in this house and I still have a lot of work to do!
