My Sister's Diagnosis

This is a photo I took of a butterfly bush in  my garden last week.

It is also the verse that I sent my sister Chris who lives in Pennsylvania.

She was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer on August 5.

{our wedding anniversary}

It was quite a shock to us and to her as it came on very fast.

No. Family. History.

This is different than your typical "find a lump" breast cancer.

Google it and you will find out more information than you ever want to know.

Chris is 15 months older than I am and I love her dearly.

She is also a pastor's wife.

Please , please bombard heaven on her behalf against this dreadful disease.

She starts chemo next week.

She has already been so strong through the diagnosis and I know she will
continue to be. She also can still say that

GOD IS GOOD.

He is her Savior,  her Redeemer and we are trusting in Him to
be her healer.

7 minutes can change your life!

Just a quick post today. I made it safely home last night from visiting my sister in Pennsylvania.
We had such a wonderful time and hated to see it come to an end, but we are both exhausted! lol
That is what happens when you hit the ground running and never slow down until it is time to
come back home. :)

I did want to share with you the amazing goodness of our Heavenly Father. He certainly gave
our family a huge blessing without asking.  The week before I arrived my sister was at her bank doing
some business and when she left the bank and got back in her vehicle she remembers looking at her
clock and it said 12:31 pm.
The bank was robbed at 12:38 pm. SEVEN minutes after she left.
This past week she talked to the
clerk who had waited on her last week and she said that Chris (my sister) was her last customer and
then she took her lunch break , but was still in the bank. That is when everything broke loose.
Two masked men came in , showed a gun and robbed the place.

I have gone over all kinds of scenarios in my head such as what if my sister had been in there
when the robbers came in...would they have taken her hostage or worse yet  would they have shot her?
I thank God every day for watching over her and keeping her safe!! I could have been going to
Pennsylvania for a totally different reason that I don't even want to think about.

Friday while we were shopping she got another phone call that there was another bank robbery
in a little town called Sandy Lake about 5 minutes from where she lives and there was also
a third one all within a few miles of where she lives.  If you think about it please say a prayer
that these people will be caught and not hurt anyone in the meantime.

Thanking God today for the prayers he answers without us even praying them!!

Christmas Past ~

Oh, the charming photos from Christmas past...

When we were young most of us probably wished
that they didn't exist, but now that we are
older and wiser
we cherish them...as we should ~
My sister on the left and yours truly on the right
{didn't know it back then, but mom was stylin' with
shabby aqua colors...lol}
I have that star topper on my tree today~
This photo says it all... my mom loved to curl our hair! {and...I still have this red dress. how special is that } Isn't this one a winner?? yep...me sitting down. What I would give to have that adorable little pink table now!

Definitely precious memories of growing up and knowing every day that I was so loved. I thank God daily for that assurance that every child deserves and needs. There was never a doubt and we never had to wonder. My sister, brother and I were very loved.

Thank you so much mom and dad from the bottom of my heart! Blessings~

Thank you!

Me and my daddy ~
(Man I have a big head! LOL)
I will be headed to the hospital again soon so I don't have time to go to each and every blog and thank you personally so this is the next best thing.

THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU...
everyone ~

I am overwhelmed at the kindness and prayers
of all my blogging friends. So many of you praying for my father...
It is a
*very good thing*
and I know that our God hears and answers prayer.

We spent the day with him yesterday and
there is no other place I would have rather been.
My brother is coming home from his vacation early which they just headed
out to on Sunday. He has been in constant contact via cell phones and he has called the hospital and talked to the nurses. My sister was planning on coming home from PA this Friday for a visit and she is coming home early too.
Mom has been a rock throughout this ordeal , but I know this is hard on her too, so please say a prayer for her as well.
We all love him so much...he is the best ever~ Blessings~

Precious Christmas Gifts from the Heart~

I was absolutely thrilled to receive this handmade calendar from my mother for Christmas! I just adore anything that someone has taken time to make for me with their own hands. My mother put in hour after hour and literally months making calendars for each of her children (three of us) and with all the excruciating back pain she has been in just brings tears to my eyes. (please say a prayer for her if you think about it that the doctors will be able to help her soon) These are a few pictures that are in the calendar~ My parents when they were dating:
This of course is me and it is for the month of March since my birthday is in that month.
My sister and I...weren't we so cute! LOL
I have always LOVED this picture! It is of my sister, brother and I kneeling at the bedside and my brother is peeking!!!! My mom made our nightgowns and little caps that year ...so precious to me!
Memories of days gone by that shall forever live in my heart. We grew up in the most wonderful and loving home ever and my parents are the worlds greatest parents! I love them sooo much!! Enjoy!
