Celebrating Pink and Peonies ~

I woke up today to a sink full of beautiful peonies!!

Hubby kept trying to lure me out of bed this morning by
saying that I better pick my peonies before it rained and I just kept laying in bed. When I finally
decided to get up and plodded to the kitchen my eyes lit up when I saw these beauties!!  He had
gone to our local town {3 miles away} and picked these on the way home. {they were in a ditch of all
places!} How does that happen! Not by a house, but just growing in the ditch. We saw them last
night, but didn't stop. I whined around a bit when we got home for him to go and pick me some,
but I told him he didn't have to. I was tired and so was he!  HA!

I had forgotten all about them!! SO... I was thrilled when I saw
 these this morning. {along with a maple frosted cinnamon roll with nuts on top}

{He picked the ones in the large white vase and the others are from our bushes here}

Who wouldn't be thrilled to wake up to these beauties??!!

This is a table on my front porch. Sorry for the "slant" of the pic!

I have fun moving things around all summer long out here.  I need to put something
in that birdcage yet, but not sure what. Maybe some ivy...I do have some that I
haven't planted yet.

I just noticed I haven't gotten rid of the pinecones from over the winter!
Guess I better get right on that. :)

I took photos of peonies inside and outside and every which way while they still look nice.

I love them on my pallet tray, don't you?

In my humble opinion I think everyone should have peonies growing in their garden.
They don't last long, but they are so worth the show they put on for a brief time.
I love them!

Happy JUNE everyone!

Beautiful Fall Roses

As I was steering my cart through the grocery store a couple weeks ago, these beautiful fall colored
roses just hopped right out of their cooler and landed in my cart. I do think they made a wise
decision, because I fell in love with them right away. ha!  I usually don't do colored roses
but these just spoke to me.  I do love the color for this time of year.

I couldn't fit them all in my pitcher so I added three of them to a silver vase and put them in my bathroom.

They sure are gorgeous , but alas... I had to pitch them today as they were very wilted and
sad looking.  I did wire them because they last much longer as far as standing upright, but
they had definitely seen better days. I thoroughly enjoyed them while I could
though.

Happy weekend! Don't forget to change your clocks tonight. I can't wait. Maybe I can
finally catch up on my sleep...zzzz...:)

Aprons and...They Have Finally Arrived!

Yesterday when I got up I decided I wanted to make an apron. I probably have six or eight apron patterns that I got when they were on sale at one time or another for 99 cents each and I decided it was high time I made one. So I am guessing I started cutting the fabric out about 9 ish or 9:30...I was ALL DONE by 11:30. YAY!! I love the style of the pattern with the flared flounce at the bottom.

I also started a full apron awhile ago and was working on it a couple days ago and I got frustrated so I decided to make this one for now. The other one is almost done, but...silly me. I have sewn for so long that I ususally don't transfer the markings from the pattern and that is one that should have been marked so...gotta do a little remake, but no biggie. I will post it when finished. But I decided I will NOT be making the full aprons to sell. LOL
I don't know if you can tell or not, but there is a pocket sewn on the front of the apron...gotta have somewhere to stuff those hankies for our hormonal times. lol BE STILL MY HEART...
...My gorgeous peonies have finally opened! They unfurled their petals in a grand display for all to see and it was so worth the wait. I love them!
Peonies and vintage lace...doesn't get much better than this. Love their intricate petals ~
I love taking photos and sometimes I just get snapping away and don't know when to stop. I probably took 50 and saved 25. Now isn't that a little ridiculous don't you think? I have to stop and remind myself periodically that you all don't want to see 25 pictures of the same thing (lol) so I managed to get them pared down to these four...Hope it isn't too many. I do get a little carried away.
Blessings~
