Trick-or-treat!

Just look what I found!! A pretty little mermaid  getting ready to go trick-or-treating.

...along with her sweet little sister. Aren't they both so precious and don't they make
beautiful little mermaids? :)

My son also donned a costume ...lol!

Hubby and I went to our son and daughter-in-laws place and trick-or-treated with them and the girls
last Saturday evening. We had a lot of fun, although just as we were starting it began raining so we
had to break out the umbrellas.

The above photo is an apartment building that we walked past.

Two little mermaids getting ready to head out for treats.

 {yes I got the photos in the wrong order...sorry}

Grandpa and Grandma all ready for a fun evening with the pretty little mermaids. ♥

This was my costume! HA HA! We did look for ears on the spur of the moment, but didn't find any.
Annika wanted me to say "meow" at every place we went so I tried to oblige her. HA! They are only
young once and we are making memories. I found out when I became a grandparent that I will do
things for my grands that I have never done before! :) Fun, fun times that will pass all too soon
and they will be 16 before we know it. I am treasuring these days and holding them close to my
heart.

Renaissance Faire

When we visit our son and his family who live about
2 hours away we try to cram in all the fun we can in
a couple days and this past weekend was no
exception.

Friday evening: Olive Garden
Saturday: garage sales in the neighborhood
and then off to the RC races...along with a few
times when their van would not start so had
to borrow jumper cables...twice.
Sunday: Church, lunch, Renaissance Faire,
sons 30th birthday party...and back home.

I had to share some pictures from the Ren
Faire and of my sweeties. Be forewarned there
are lots of grandchildren photos in this post :)

Fairy Annika

Fairy Keira

Just inside the entrance they had these fairy halos for sale and of course grandma had to get them each one. These are the ones they chose. Annika is trying to do the fairy dance that they were teaching her....Keira wanted no part of it.

there was all kinds of headgear and clothing

I felt so sorry for these people who were all dressed up
because it was about 90 degrees and so humid...
hot, hot, hot!

Our two little fairies got an *audience with the queen*.
This gentleman said that usually the queen does not
see fairies , but she might make an exception. He
announced them to her and and she agreed to see
them :)

They want to sing her a song and she is asking them
what songs they know.

We even found some pirates sitting near
the queen. Yikes!

They are all singing twinkle , twinkle little star.

They also bowed to the queen , but I didn't
get that photo...bummer.

Such a long, hot day, but the little fairies were determined
to have a good time.

Fairy Annika even got her face painted.
Again...Keira wanted nothing to do with it.
She is more of an onlooker and not so much a
participant. lol.

Two sweet fairies sitting under a mushroom.

Playing ring toss

Picking a prize out of the treasure chest.

Right before we left we all had had to stick our
faces in these holes and get photos.
This is my youngest son and his wife.

Such a fun ,but very busy couple days.
Making memories while we can and cherishing
each and every one of them!

Blessings~

Ready for Spring!

Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness
has never danced in the rain.
~Author Unknown

I am SO ready for Spring and I know many of you are
too. I even went outside this morning and hung up my
new bluebell rain chain.

Now I say...bring on the rain! :)

I have been wishing for one of these for quite some
time, but I always found something more worthy to
spend the $90 on.

My wish came true a few weeks ago.
I did a review for csn and I received an $85 credit
so this beauty only cost me $5! Even free shipping!

Just in case you don't already know... These are hung in place of a downspout on a gutter and the water runs down over the cups. I just can't wait to hear it and see it. {this has a total of 18 cups} It is supposed to rain tomorrow...yay! :)

I now have the *crud*...I thought I had made it through the winter without sickness (besides my ear problem), but nope. I have a hacking cough, sinus problems etc., but it could be worse so I am counting my blessings. Had some of the kiddos and grands in for the weekend and a few of them are sick as well. I do hate to see little ones sick so please say a prayer...

Spring shows what God can do with a drab and dirty world. ~Virgil A. Kraft Happy Monday! Blessings~

Suppose God charged us for the rain...

What's It Worth
Suppose God charged us for the rain, Or put a price on a song-bird’s strain Of music, the dawn, the mist on the plain.
How much would autumn landscapes cost, Or a window etched with winter’s frost, And the rainbow’s glory so quickly lost?
Suppose that people had to pay To see the sunset’s crimson play And the magic stars of the Milky Way.
Suppose it was fifty cents a night To watch a gull in graceful flight.
How much, I wonder, would it be worth To smell the good, brown, fragrant earth In Spring? The miracle of birth.
How much do you think people would pay For a baby’s laugh at the close of day? Suppose God charges us for them, I say!
Suppose we paid to look at the hills, For the rippling mountain rills, Or the mating song of the whippoorwills,
Or curving breakers of the sea, For grace, and beauty, and majesty? And all these things He gives us free! -Author Unknown
Happy day! Blessings~

Update: storms

Imagine my surprise when I stepped out my back door
this morning , walked out in our back yard and found
this branch lying next to the house. I am so thankful
that we did not get the 80 mph winds that some did
or I am sure this huge tree would have come right
down on top of our house or through the kitchen
window.

It is an old tree that keeps losing it's branches and
really needs to be cut down, but just
haven't gotten to that yet.

Still no power...still running generator. Power to
come back on sometime tomorrow.

April Showers...

in May...
and boy did we get them yesterday.
Torrents of rain!!
I was in my father's hospital room watching
it pour down.
{by the way he is doing so much better
thank you so much for your prayers!}
He is on the fourth floor and it
really was a beautiful sight looking over the
city at night from high above...but the rain!
In our area we got around 3 inches and we
almost needed a boat to get home!!
We turned down our road and there
were four places where it was flooded over
the road in the 3/4 mile from the main road to
our house. We have never seen that in the
28 years that we have lived here.
Sharing a chuckle for the day:
Whether the weather be fair,
whether the weather be hot,
we'll weather the weather
whatever the weather,
whether we like it or not!

Pot of Gold ?

Can you believe that there was no pot of gold
at the end of this gorgeous rainbow?
I even called and asked my dad if he found one
because the rainbow appeared to end right
over the top of his house. lol.
Fun times!

It has been raining here all day long...
kinda gloomy, but that made me
think of the rainbow...
and God's promises to us.
