One year more blessed ~

I think I need two houses to decorate.
{I didn't say to clean, I said to decorate.lol.}

I love the creams and neutrals nowdays,
but my heart still skips a beat when I find
vintage pieces like this~

I found this at an antique mall when I was at my daughter's
home last weekend...$2.00.
{along with another one that I will share later}

I had picked up a few vintage prayer cards and also
a vintage silver dish and although I really liked them,
I didn't have that
*oh my goodness* feeling
that I get when I find something really special
until... I found these~

They were in the very last booth at the antique mall
and I had to root through old paper items to find
these gems, but it was so worth it!

It's the little things that send me
*over the moon*.

My birthday was yesterday...all day long.
that means I am one year older,
one year wiser, {not sure about this one...lol},
one year crazier,
and one year more blessed!!

Have a beautiful sunshiny Thursday~

Teeny Tiny Vintage Cards ~

I adore most any type of vintage paper items and I just love the old cards. They sure don't make them like they used to anymore. I have a collection of teeny tiny gift cards and wanted to share some of them with you today.

Isn't this little birdie so cute along with her pink parasol and flowers~
Love this parasol trimmed with vintage lace as well~ Another adorable little bird ~
Lovely umbrella with daisies~
I want a dress and hat like this~
Just too cute~
Sweet fair maiden bringing gifts~
I have noticed a lot of the older cards have birds on them~
I hope you enjoyed my walk down memory lane. I often wonder what will become of my vintage paper ephemera when I am gone because I don't think my daughter is the least bit interested in it. Although I think my oldest granddaughter would love it! She is a *DETAIL* person like me and she is only 10 years old. (well on June 2nd she will be) She loves to make things out of paper just like I did when I was young and she is always drawing or doodling...hmm...I think I found my answer~ Blessings~

Recycled Greeting Cards ~

I had so much fun making these tiny little houses that I wanted to share them with you. A couple of years ago my cousin gave me a box full of my late grandparents 50th wedding anniversary cards. She knows I love all things vintage so I was thrilled when she passed them along. They just sat in a box for several months while I was trying to decide what I wanted to do with them. I wanted to share them with other family members somehow, but wasn't sure exactly just how I wanted to do that.

Then one day I found a tiny house ornament pattern in a magazine and knew instantly that is what I would do. I made several houses, embellished each one with glass glitter and then packaged each one in cellophane tied with a ribbon. I also included a picture of our grandparents in each one and a note telling that the houses were made out of our grandparents 50th anniversary cards from years past.( I also glued a tiny paper to the bottom of each house describing what they were). Then I handed them out to family members and everyone was just delighted to receive them. Enjoy ~

I hope this has inspired some of you to get out those old cards and make some goodies. I know I can only store so many things in my house so this was a perfect solution.

On another note, I about panicked this morning when I took out my camera and it would not work. I kept getting an E18 error and I have heard horror stories about that! I got online and found a couple solutions and tried one. It worked and so I just pray it keeps working because I feel like I am lost without my camera! I hope you have a wonderful day filled with blessings
